Heritage Medical Center is a provider for most major insurance companies. Heritage also participates in the Medicare and TnCare programs for the state. Patients are responsible for charges incurred for medical services. As a courtesy, our billing department will invoice your insurance carrier based on the information obtained during the registrations and admission process. The billing department will follow up with your insurance carrier until payment is received. The patient is responsible for charges not covered and any balance that may remain after the insurance carrier has made payment. Short-term payment arrangements may be made by contacting the Business Office.

Any patient having inadequate insurance coverage, or no insurance coverage, must contact the business office prior to admission/registration for non-emegency treatment, and the patient will be requested to make the appropriate deposits at the time of admission.

Your final hospital bill may include room and board, medications, x-rays, laboratory tests and other special services. For certain treatments and services in the hospital, you may receive separate bills from physicians that you did not see in person, such as radiologists or pathologists. These bills are for services provided by physicians who assisted your primary physician in the diagnosis and interpretation of test results.
